I had an awesome trip to Scandinavia. You've already heard about the travel to get there but now I wanna talk about the competition. The first weekend in Sweden I jumped into 19th the first day and 13th the second day. The hill suited me very well and I took advantage of that. Each day I was expecting to stay in the top 30. Unfortunately I skied out of it everyday. The first day I finished 40th and the second day I finished 35th. On the bright side 35th is my new personal best on the World Cup B. this just showed me that while I'm strong in the ski jumping portion of the sport, I need to work very hard next season to become stronger in the cross country portion. We then drove 7 hours to Rovaniemi, Finland. This place was cold. It taught me the brutality of doing a winter sport outside in unpredictable and uncontrollable weather. Being just a few kilometers from the arctic circle, everyday consisted of negative temperatures with some freezing winds. The only way to combat it was wear every layer you brought. I did enjoy the jumping hill and jumped into a tie for 12th position with a few other athletes. Once again I skied outside if the top 30. Now that I'm focusing on next year this trip really brought out my weaknesses and made me aware of the changes I need to make in order to someday become the best in the world. Next week I leave for Whistler, British Colombia then my season is over. Thanks for all the support!

After three days of travel I have finally made it to Ornskoldvik, Sweden. My plane from Hayden to Denver was delayed three hours and I missed the rest of my flights for the day. I had to spend the night in Denver then get on with my travels a day late. It was great to finally get to Sweden except not one of my three bags came! Five hours of driving later I'm sitting in my hotel room without clothes, toiletries, skies, or anything else I really need. Hopefully my stuff will be here tomorrow and I can get in with my training and competing. I have two competition. One on Saturday and one on Sunday then I go to Roveniemi, Finland for two more competitions. I'll keep you updated on my results. Also as I was writing this my bags miraculously showed up. So all is good! I'll post some of the pictures from the trip so far.
