Yesterday was our first competition of the winter. Unfortunately we have very little snow here in Steamboat Springs. The only snow in town is the man made snow at howelsen hill. The jumping went very well and I ended up starting first in the race! Instead of the usual 2.5 kilometers 4 times, we raced 1.25 kilometers 8 times. The race course was very difficult with a brutal climb and lots of challenging downhills. Overall it was a solid day on the jump hill and definitely not as good on the cross country course. But I know what I must work on with my skiing and now it's time to improve! I ended up finishing in 8th place and 3rd out of the juniors. This qualifies me for the Junior World Championships in Liberec, Czech Republic in January. Can't Wait!
